Tell A Story Day
It’s the story of Helen, a woman who wanted nothing more than to reunite with her mother. The two women had been separated for more than 30 years. Though she wasn’t sure where to start, Helen was determined to find and reconnect with her mom.
After many years of missing her long-lost mother, Helen hired a private detective. The investigator accepted $250 for the job, but eventually offered some bad news. He found older information about Helen’s mother, but nothing from the last few years. The trail had gone cold.
Helen waited for more information. There was no good news. She decided to take matters into her own hands.
A People Search On PeopleFinders
In September, 2011, Helen visited PeopleFinders.com. She entered the information she knew about her mother and ran a people search. Then she ordered a report and hoped for the best.
Next, Helen contacted her detective. She told him about her people search and the contact information she received. The private eye was pessimistic. He assured her that the information she found was probably 20 years old. So Helen chose to be proactive again.
A Call, Lost Hope And A Good Samaritan
On a warm September morning, Helen dialed a number from her PeopleFinders report. A woman answered, and agreed to provide any assistance she could. The Good Samaritan mentioned that someone with the same name as Helen’s mother lived nearby. The helpful woman agreed to pass on Helen’s message to the apartment complex manager.
Helen waited. She hoped the manager would get the message soon, and deliver it right away. She hoped her mom would be overjoyed and call immediately. She continued to wait.
An Overdue Call
Eventually, Helen gave up hope. She decided the detective had been right. The number she called was no good. Her reunion was not meant to be.
One morning, six months after Helen made her call, the phone rang. It was the manager from the apartment complex Helen dialed. The manager was excited. Right there, in her office, was Helen’s mom. After a quick explanation, the manager handed off the phone. Just like that, Helen was finally speaking to her mother.
We were delighted to see Helen’s story, and happy to know we helped her reunite after so many years apart. Helen told us that thanks to PeopleFinders, her mother was able to meet her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. And Helen told us that without our site, she and her mother would never have had the joy and comfort of renewing their relationship.
