A Lifetime Of Friendship

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

2-friendsIn movies and television shows groups of people are able to effortlessly maintain close friendships for decades, but it’s really not that easy. Friendship may seem like it should be one of the simplest things in life, but the truth is you have to work hard to build and maintain your friendships over time.

Part of the problem is that so many things can get in the way. People take on new jobs, move away, start families and it’s just so easy to drift apart. Sometimes people who were once very close end their friendship over an argument, and years later they don’t even remember how it started. That’s why PeopleFinders decided to visit some real experts; we met with a group of people who were better than 80 years of age and listened closely to their thoughts on the subject of long-term friendships.

People SearchMost people have heard of a People Search, but not everyone knows exactly how they work. People Searches allow you to find most anyone in the United States, and at PeopleFinders.com we are dedicated to giving you a variety of ways to find long lost family and friends.

People Search By Name
The most common way to find people online is to do a Search by Name. This type of People Search lets you enter a first and last name, and the person’s most recent city and state if you know it. You can use a last name only, but providing more information will improve your results. Fill in the details you’re sure of, click the Search button and you’ll be shown a list of up to 100 people that match your criteria. Don’t worry if you’re not sure which one is the right person, you can order a report that includes information on all of them.

How Far Would You Go?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

IraqWe watched recently as Stephen Colbert, host of the popular Comedy Central show The Colbert Report, went farther than most people could to make a connection with others. He traveled all the way to Iraq to entertain the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

For an entire week The Colbert Report was filmed, edited and broadcast from an actual war zone, where the host joked that “It must be nice in Iraq, because some of you keep coming back again and again.” During the shows, Colbert wore a specially designed camouflage suit as his personal uniform, aired exclusive messages from several major political figures and even shaved his head to show support for the troops. That got us thinking: if Mr. Colbert and his crew were willing to go that far to connect with people they didn’t know, how far would people go to reunite with someone who played an important part in their lives?

Honoring Our Fathers

Monday, June 15th, 2009

fathersdayFather’s Day is almost here, so it’s time to pay homage to dads everywhere. We thought a great way to start would be to take a look at the history of this holiday.

The origin of Father’s Day goes all the way back to 1909 and a woman Sonora Dodd. She came up with the idea on Mother’s Day, and decided that dad’s needed a special day of their own. With her help, the first Father’s Day Celebration happened on June 19, 1910, the same month her beloved dad was born. The small event took place at the YMCA in Spokane, Washington but the story was picked up by newspapers and quickly became a sensation.
