People Search Results From Google Zeitgeist 2012

Each year, Google analyzes the data from over one trillion searches completed across the globe using its search engine. This zeitgeist breaks down the data into several categories and provides the top 10 trending queries for each category. Lists are provided for the entire world, as well as broken down by country so that comparisons can be made as to what search queries were popular in one country compared to another, as well as compared to the rest of the world.

Can Facebook Out-Awesome Google Plus?

Google has had a lot of Buzz since announcing their latest social networking concept, Google Plus. Of course no one expected Facebook to just ignore it.

Last week Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the world that he would make an announcement on Wednesday, July 6. He didn’t give many details, other than to say it was about the launch of “something awesome.”

Will Google Plus Win You Over?

Social networking isn’t perfect. But Google is trying to take it to a nearly flawless level. Their upcoming product, Google Plus, hopes to be a contender for Facebook’s social throne.

Although Facebook and Google offer very different services, they are competitors. Both provide content to inform and entertain visitors. And both are vying for time and attention from global web surfers.

Google Plus (or G+ as I like to call it) could be the “next big thing” in social networking. The company is taking a big gamble that it will be.

What Does The Web Say About You?

Ever wonder what information is available about you online? Have you tried to find out?

People do it all the time. We enter our names into Google or another search engine just to see what comes up. Sometimes we find ourselves, and sometimes we get hundreds of links that have nothing to do with us. A Florida college student recently decided to Google himself. What he found was deeply disturbing.

Google has been the dominant search engine for years, and sites like Yahoo or Bing are also popular options.  These days, however, a lot of people are looking for a more personalized approach to finding information online.

One of the benefits of using a major search engine is that you’ll get hundreds of results for almost any topic. Even if you’re looking for something that is relatively obscure, chances are good you’ll find a large number of websites dedicated to that subject. While a long list of sites is very useful, sometimes it’s not quite what people are looking for.
