December is filled with reasons to celebrate; from the well-know holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa to the more unusual events like Oatmeal Muffin Day and Wear A Plunger On Your Head Day (we’re not 100% sure what that one is all about, but to each his own). Everywhere you look you see lights, decorations and people out shopping for gifts that they hope will bring joy to their friends and family members.

At PeopleFinders, we love the feelings of community and sharing that accompany each December. During the holiday season people devote a little more time to simply being with relatives and friends, something we encourage all year long! To help get into the holiday spirit we thought we’d mention a few of the lesser-known reasons to celebrate this December:

Hi Neighbor Month

It’s just as simple as it sounds – the last month of the year is a time when people are encouraged to say hello and get to know their neighbors. Start with a friendly wave or a good morning and who knows, you may be starting a brand new friendship.

December 16: National Chocolate Covered Anything Day

What better way to celebrate than with chocolate? On December 16 people are encouraged to get adventurous with their favorite treat and try anything they want dipped in chocolate.

December 21: Look On The Bright Side Day

Although December is known as the holiday season, it can be a difficult month. Shorter days, colder weather, stressful schedules and more can be a bit overwhelming. December 21 is all about taking a moment to stop your hectic day and focus on the positive side of life.

Write A Friend Month

When was the last time you sat down and wrote an old-fashioned letter? Just imagine how much it would mean to get one from someone you care about. This December, take a little time to write a letter to a friend.

At PeopleFinders we want to help you share this special time of year with anyone who has touched your life. We’re offering some incredible end-of-year specials to help you find people and stay connected with the friends and family who brighten your holiday season. Click here to see our incredible holiday specials.

Whatever you celebrate, PeopleFinders wishes you a very safe and happy holiday season. Thank you for reading the People Search blog.

People Searches allow you to find most anyone in the United States, and at PeopleFinders.com we are dedicated to giving you a variety of ways to find long lost family and friends.

People Search By Name
The most common way to find people online is to do a Search by Name. This type of People Search lets you enter a first and last name, and the person’s most recent city and state if you know it. You can use a last name only, but providing more information will improve your results. Fill in the details you’re sure of, click the Search button and you’ll be shown a list of up to 100 people that match your criteria. Don’t worry if you’re not sure which one is the right person, you can order a report that includes information on all of them.

Other People Search Options
You may not remember the name of the person you hope to find, so we have other options to help. One way is to use an old address. Enter as much information as you can, including the zip code if possible, and you’ll get a list of all the people who lived at that residence. Seeing the names may jog your memory and help you locate the person you’re looking for. Another option is to search using an outdated phone number. You’ll see everyone who is associated with that number, so you can find the right person even if they haven’t used those digits in years.

An Email Search shows you how to contact someone online. You can find anyone’s Email using their name or address, or use an Email address to find more information about the owner. One of the most definitive ways to find people is with a Social Security Number. Every SSN is unique to one individual, so if you have that number you can find the exact person you want immediately.

Find Someone Using A Maiden Name
It’s easy to lose touch with someone, especially if they get married, change their name or move away. Finding a woman when all you have is her maiden name can be difficult, but with some patience and persistence you can use PeopleFinders.com to find anyone.

Start with an Advanced People Search and enter a maiden name and any other details you know for the best results. Depending on how common the name is, you’ll get a list of 1 to 100 people and you can request a single report for all of them. Look for an address you recognize, and if none of them seem familiar do an Address Search on each one to see all the people who resided there. Once you find the woman you’re searching for, you’ll get her married name and you can order a People Search or Comprehensive Background Report to find out how to contact her today.

We hope this has helped you learn how to find people using a People Search. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have other questions on how to find people online. Thank you for reading the PeopleFinders.com blog.

For the last several days we’ve watched in stunned silence as people all over the world took time out of their busy lives to remember Michael Jackson. The King of Pop passed away on the same day as Farah Fawcett, June 25, 2009, making it a date that will be memorialized for generations to come.

Although most of us did not know him personally, Michael Jackson’s music and fame made him one of the most publicly recognizable entertainers of all time. When we spend so much time watching and listening to a celebrity, it’s easy to start to feel a personal connection with that person. Despite the many trials and tribulations Michael Jackson may have faced over the years, he touched the hearts and made a connection with millions of people while he was here.

At PeopleFinders.com we celebrate the art of connecting with other people. There are few things as tragic as a life that has been cut short, but if there is one positive outcome it’s that we are all reminded of how important it is to spend what time we have with the people we care about. As we watched the Michael Jackson Memorial Service, we saw first-hand that even with his busy schedule the performer still took every opportunity he could to devote to his friends and family.

The Memorial Service is over, and the news stations are starting to focus on other stories. People all over the planet, however, continue to mourn and reflect on one who was taken from us too soon. We honor the memory of those who have passed away by remembering that for those of us left behind it is never too late to find people and reconnect with anyone who has been an important part of our lives.

Life is fragile and unpredictable. We hope you are sharing yours with friends and family who make it all worthwhile. Thank you for reading the PeopleFinders.com People Search blog.

Earlier this week we talked about how far people would go to reunite with someone they haven’t seen in years … but what happens when you finally meet again? It can be tough to break the ice with people we’ve been away from for so long.

Finding people is easy these days. You can find anyone with a People Search or get someone’s most recent number using a Reverse Phone Lookup. PeopleFinders.com can show you how to get in touch with a long lost friend or relative, but when you see them again you may discover you’re at a loss for words. Here are a few ice breakers to help you get started.

We understand that reconnecting with people you haven’t seen in years can be nerve-racking. It’s difficult to communicate with anyone when you’re anxious, so take a moment to relax and collect your thoughts first. You’ve waited a long time to reunite with someone special, so make sure you’re calm and ready.

One of the easiest ways to get a conversation going is to reminisce about the past. Everyone loves a trip down Nostalgia Lane with an old friend, and it’s a great way to remind each other about the good times you shared and the things that brought you close in the first place. Talking about the ‘good old days’ often leads to discussions about what you’re doing currently.

If you prefer to focus on the present, remember that a lot has happened to you both since you last saw each other. Start the ball rolling by bringing up anything that is an important part of your life today. Share the news of promotion, marriage, children or any major event your friend hasn’t heard about yet. Once you get the conversation started, you’ll realize you both have a lot to discuss.

Another ice breaker is to meet somewhere that has personal significance. Try the old restaurant where you always ate, or that special park where you spent so much time together. You may also want to bring pictures with you. Looking at photos encourages chatter, so take a look at old pictures you haven’t seen in years or share new ones.

So what are you waiting for? If you’re missing someone just remember there was a reason you shared a connection, and chances are they’re also missing you. Start by finding people who have been on your mind, think about how you can break the ice when you reunite and prepare for a journey that will enrich the rest of your life.

Thank you for reading the PeopleFinders.com People Search blog.
