I never met my uncle Bill. He died long before I was born. I’ve only heard bit and pieces of the story, but here’s what I know. My uncle was a helicopter pilot. His chopper was shot down. He died in an unfamiliar land. He died defending the country he loved. He died so that people like me, one of many nephews he never met, could enjoy their freedoms.
Monday, May 30 2011 is Memorial Day. It’ a day to remember all the brave men and women who died while defending their country. Our country.
