March 16 is National Freedom of Information Day. It’s a celebration of the Freedom of Information Act that was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
The Freedom of Information Act grants Americans the right to easily access information from and about the Federal Government. This law states that every person has the right to review federal records, unless those records are legally protected from public disclosure.

That’s the situation Tammie Powers recently found herself in. Her teenage daughter Jordan is romantically and sexually involved with a former teacher, James Hooker. Now Tammie is doing everything she can to tell her story to the world. She has one overwhelming goal: to get 41-year-old Hooker arrested.

Lynn O. is a new friend of ours. She enjoys the pace of her life in Hawaii, and never gave a second thought to online services like people searches and reverse lookups. That is until she suddenly needed to locate her sister-in-law.

When we first heard about the rescue of Jaycee Dugard, her story seemed almost unbelievable. A young girl was kidnapped, repeatedly raped, held captive for 18 years and finally freed. It was like something out of a movie. But Jaycee’s ordeal was very real.
After all she’s gone through, it would be easy for Jaycee Dugard to be bitter and full of rage. Nearly half her life was taken from her, but the 31-year-old remains positive, upbeat and optimistic.

May 21 is Armed Forces Day. The theme this year is: “United in Strength.”
It’s a day for parades, picnics and celebrations. Mostly, however, it is a day to honor all the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
History of Armed Forces Day
The American military has always been an organization worth celebrating. For many years, the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard had separate days set aside to honor each branch. In 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson officially announced the creation of one day to recognize all 5 branches of service: Armed Forces Day.
