What are you grateful for? It’s easy to dwell on the negative things in life. Our days get so hectic that most of us don’t have time to stop and think about all the little moments that make us smile. That’s why we’re celebrating World Gratitude Day.
In 1965 a group of dignitaries from several nations enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner together in Hawaii. They discussed the concept of creating one day each year to encourage people to focus on things that make them happy. All the attendees agreed to take this idea back to their home countries. From then on, September 21 was recognized as World Gratitude Day.
The founders of this happy holiday suggest spending it with family and friends, and meditating on things that bring you joy. Whether you share these thoughts with others or keep them private doesn’t matter. The point is to concentrate on the positive side of life and express your gratitude.
Lynn O. is a new friend of ours. She enjoys the pace of her life in Hawaii, and never gave a second thought to online services like people searches and reverse lookups. That is until she suddenly needed to locate her sister-in-law.
At first she wasn’t sure where to start. Lynn knew about public records websites, but was hesitant to try one. She decided to give it a shot, and visited PeopleFinders.com.
Some events are so powerful that every detail becomes permanently etched into the minds of people who were there. A few are significant enough to impact the entire world. People will often share stories about how these moments affected their lives. These stories are passed on to every generation, because they must never be forgotten.
One of the most unforgettable and agonizing moments in American history began on September 11, 2001.
It started like any other morning. People woke up and prepared for a fresh new day. And then, without warning, everything changed. We heard the shocking news that a commercial airliner had crashed into one of New York’s Twin Towers.
The whole world stopped. We watched in horror as footage of the devastating crash was broadcast on every channel. We wondered what could have gone wrong. It wasn’t long before we learned the truth. Four planes had been hijacked. And things were about to get much worse.
It’s not easy to offend most people with a t-shirt these days. We’ve seen it all. Some companies even specialize in creating “offensive” shirts. You won’t find them in your local retail store, but anyone can buy them online and wear them in public.
So why did a shirt sold by J.C. Penney cause so much controversy? It didn’t contain any “4-letter words” or “adult” themes. But it did carry a message that shocked just about everyone who saw it.
