Inspirational Role Models Month

November 4th, 2010

Who inspires you? We all have people we’ve looked up to, emulated and learned from. November is Inspirational Role Models Month, a time to recognize and celebrate these people.

Darlene House came up with the concept in 2005. Her goal was to “acknowledge the impact contemporary and historic role models have on our lives.”

Celebrating Inspirational Role Models Month

So how do you commemorate this event? The Inspirational Role Models Month website offers suggestions. People are encouraged to prepare creative projects or activities that pay tribute to historic role models. Another option is to devote some one-on-one time to contemporary figures. Take a little time to thank someone who inspired you. Let them know you appreciate their efforts.

A role model can be anyone who inspires you: relatives, friends or colleagues. Perhaps someone you’ve never met, like a politician, athlete or celebrity. Anyone who motivated you to action or encouraged you to make positive changes in your life.

Are You A Role Model?

We all need role models. People whom we look up to and respect. Who encourage us with their words and actions. They may not even realize the impact they have on our lives, but we’re grateful for all they do.

At PeopleFinders, we are inspired by people who take time to care about others. We salute those who work hard to improve the lives of family, friends, colleagues and strangers. You don’t always know when someone is watching you, and learning from your actions. Would people be inspired by your deeds? Are you a role model?

This November, take time to honor the people whose dedication and diligence inspire us all. Please leave us a comment to share your thoughts on Inspirational Role Models Month, and thank you for reading the PeopleFinders People Search blog.
