Catch Your Own Tiger By The Tail

December 7th, 2009

tiger_woodsTiger Woods has been a celebrated golfer, athlete and even hero, but recently his name is most often followed by the word scandal. In just a few days, Tiger’s fans have gone from discussing his golfing prowess to talking about his personal life.

It began with a story in the National Enquirer that claimed Tiger was having an affair with a nightclub hostess named Rachel Uchitel. She denied this accusation and insisted that any connection between them is purely coincidental. Rumors about this alleged affair raged for two days, until another Tiger related item took the spotlight.

Early in the morning of Friday, November 27, Tiger Woods drove his Escalade over a fire hydrant and crashed into a neighbor’s tree. By the time the police arrived, Tiger was on the ground and his wife Elin Nordegren was standing over him. The SUV’s rear window was broken, and Elin said she smashed it with a golf club to rescue her husband from the wreckage.

TMZ.com claims the truth is Elin discovered that Tiger was having an affair, and she attacked him. The website suggested that Elin scratched Tiger’s face, and chased him with a golf club as he retreated to his vehicle. TMZ blamed Elin for the accident, stating that she hit the vehicle with a club and caused Tiger to lose control. Tiger responded that this was not true, but also refused to talk to Highway Patrol officers about the incident.

While Tiger was being treated in a hospital, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress named Jamie Grubbs told US Weekly that she was having an affair with Tiger Woods. She shared a voice mail message that seemed to support her claim. The message was from Tiger, asking Grubbs to remove her name from her own phone, because his wife had his cell and might call her number.

Jamie Grubbs may have gone into this relationship with her eyes wide open, but when most people meet someone new they have no way of knowing if the person is single or married. At PeopleFinders we believe in the power of knowledge, and are proud to be a progressive provider of information that affects your daily life. Our new service, Are They Really Single, will help you eliminate any doubt about a person’s marital status by showing you a list of their long-term relationships.

It works by letting you search for anyone in the United States, and then comparing that person’s age, gender and last name with others who shared a residence. Use it to find out if someone has ever said “I do”, and avoid any inadvertent trysts with a married person.

Not long after Jamie Grubbs’ revelation, Tiger Woods released a statement of apology in which he said he deeply regrets his transgressions. He pointed out that he is not perfect, and must deal with the repercussions of his actions. His story is very public because of his celebrity status, but for most of us there is no quick and easy way to learn about the good and bad aspects of someone’s past. Until now.

Stud Or Dud is a hot new service that gives you the big picture behind anyone’s background. It allows you to search for people and check for their address history, criminal records, bankruptcies and other useful tidbits. It’s a great way to build a clear picture about someone who isn’t covered by the nightly news.

What happens next for Tiger Woods is anyone’s guess. He got caught committing indiscretions and will remain in the public eye because people want to learn more about other people and the world around them. We hope Tiger is able to reconcile his personal life, and we are proud to provide services that help you find the information you need to protect yourself from personally embarrassing situations.
